Blogging from my iPad

January 10th, 2011

Just a bit of a tester really to find out how easy / difficult it is to blog from my iPad. In doing this test I have found a few things….

In the first instance I tried the free WordPress app, however I found it a little bit buggy – uploading photos was a slow and awkward and in my opinion needs some work. I’m sure it’ll get there, however at the moment it is sadly lacking.

Second off, I decided that the best thing to use would be the regular web interface…obviously this is only available when online, but with 3G being pervasive in most urban areas I thought that this could be a winner, however this does not support uploading media – I assume this is due to the strange file system of the iPad.

Last but not least I decided to try out BlogPress given as it was a relatively inexpensive app £1.79 and that the reviews in the AppStore were positive. I must admit that so far this is the most intuitive blogging experience with the ability to upload media and do basically what I need it too.

    Just found out that you cannot set Categories for a post which is a bit of a bind, so have emailed the developer a feature request.

    @GaryJudge
    Good News! The developer has been in touch and advised that it is possible to set the category – although I need to try this out.
